SOLD

I am selling my 2008 BMW R1200GS. Pictures are below. Here is a little bit of information about it.
  • It has 40,000 miles on it.
  • I have done all the service on it myself since it was new.
  • The following extra equipment is included.
  • Ohlins suspension front and rear. I originally ordered it with ESA but after a few miles I decided I preferred Ohlins so I had the dealer reconfigure the computer and I removed the ESA shocks and sold them.
  • It is equipped with R1200S 17" wheels mounted with new Michelin Pilot Road 3 rubber. I've done five R1200GS bikes in this configuration. The difference is amazing. It makes the bike feel 100 pounds lighter. It turns in faster but maintains its stability on the highway. In order to make this change it can not run the stock can so this one is equipped with a Remus TI can. The original can goes with the bike. The rest of the exhaust is stock. I ran it with the Remus header for a while but the noise was too much for me. Since the front wheel is 2" smaller the bike sits about 1" lower which helps those of us with short legs. It also has an aftermarket front hugger painted black plus the original fender.
  • The bike has a Russell seat on it and also comes with the stock seat which is new and never used.
  • The windshield is an Adventure shield with winglets.
  • The bike is fully optioned including: ABS, traction control, heated grips, etc.
  • A set of Vario expandable saddlebags/liners are included as is an original BMW GS small version tankbag.
  • I added a Powerlet socket and Warm-n-Safe built-in controller for my heated jacket.
  • It also is equipped with a Garmin 660/665 mount all wired up for your GPS.
  • I also added a RAM mount and powered RJ11 plug for a radar detector. Valentine 1 in my case.
  • Included also is a Jesse rear mounted plate. I don't think they sell this anymore. It fits in where the passenger seat would normally go and gives you a place to mount a tailpack or whatever.
  • As for demerits, I've dropped it twice. Neither time moving which is really embarrassing to admit. Once I dropped it on De Luz road going over a 2" water crossing with green snot on the bottom. The last time was a few weeks ago. I was talking to my friend and went to put my foot down and well, I don't know. I stepped off of it and down she went. Must be getting old. (I am.) Anyway, no damage other than the hand protectors and head protectors are scratched which you'd have to look for to find. Oh well, I've come clean... Oh yea, the fuel gauge strip failed a couple of weeks ago but I've replaced it already.
  • Why am I selling it? You would ask I'm sure. I've been riding Beemers for a long time now and R12GS's since 2005, that's three bikes. I'm going to try something different for a change so I ordered a Triumph Explorer just for the hell of it.
  • If I think of any more stuff I'll add it on. Pictures are below.
  • Oh yea, the first $10K takes the entire shootin' match. Only caveat is that you come get it.
